Data Sharing and Reproducibility 

The International Review of Law (IRL) is committed to promoting transparency, integrity, and reproducibility in scholarly research. Authors are therefore strongly encouraged to make the data underlying their research available to other researchers upon reasonable request, where appropriate and feasible.

Research data may include, but are not limited to, survey data collected through questionnaires, interview transcripts, observational notes, datasets, methodological documentation, research workflows, and analytical procedures used in the study. Sharing such materials allows other researchers to verify findings, build upon existing research, and contribute to the advancement of legal scholarship.

Authors may share research data provided that doing so does not violate ethical standards, confidentiality obligations, the protection of human subjects, or applicable privacy and security regulations. Where sensitive information is involved, authors are encouraged to provide anonymized or aggregated datasets when possible.

Authors remain responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of the data associated with their research. Any errors or inaccuracies in shared datasets remain the responsibility of the authors who produced them.

Researchers requesting access to data are expected to use the materials responsibly and ethically, and in accordance with the journal’s policies and applicable international laws. All data associated with articles published in IRL are subject to the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution–NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0) applied to the published work.

Reuse of data in subsequent research or publications is permitted provided that the following conditions are met:

  • The reuse is for non-commercial purposes only.

  • The original authors and the journal are properly credited.

  • The original source publication is clearly cited.

  • The reuse complies with applicable ethical standards and relevant legal requirements.

Through responsible data sharing, IRL seeks to encourage collaborative research, strengthen research integrity, and support the continued development of high-quality legal scholarship.
