The Human Genome and its Rulings in Islamic Law: A Maqasidi Approach
Abstract
The research addresses issues of the human genome which is related to the needs of people today particularly in the world of biology that prompted me to elucidate the Islamic Juridical opinion on these issues based on Islamic moderation and Purposes of islamic Sharia. I have studied in this research the human genome pertaining to the techniques and modem means used in the controlling genes. I have explained the rule of Islamic Sharia on use of the human genome to change the genetic characteristics with the precautionary measures to control of genetic identity. The research examined the rule of implanting the animal component in the human body. As well as the rule of use of the genome in aborting deformed fetus before or after blowing the soul and concluded with laying down the criteria of legitimized using of human genome for the useful purposes.
