The Viewpoint of Mathematics Teachers Towards Distance Learning in The Basic Stage in The Directorate of Education of The Taibah and Al-Wastiyah Districts in Irbid Governorate - Jordan

Abstract
The study aimed to clarify the viewpoint of mathematics teachers in the Education Directorate of Taibah and Al Wastiyah Districts in Irbid Governorate - Jordan towards distance learning.
A questionnaire consisting of 70 items was developed under four axes: the degree of using distance education means, the positives, the challenges, and the activation mechanisms. The study sample consisted of 98 male and female teachers, who were selected by a simple random sampling method during the first semester of the year 2020/2021.
The results indicated that the degree of using distance learning was medium, while the positives were moderate, and the results revealed that the challenges of distance education came to a high degree. The study pointed to some mechanisms for activating distance education, and the results did not indicate the presence of statistically significant differences due to the educational qualification variable.
The study presents a set of recommendations, namely: Enhancing the positive impact of using distance education in teaching mathematics among students and teachers, and working to find solutions to the challenges facing mathematics teachers towards the use of distance education, taking into account the mechanisms of activating distance education, especially: improving and increasing the speed of the Internet for students and teachers in their work and residence areas, providing teachers and students with the necessary technical and smart devices for distance learning, and designing websites and platforms for distance education that suit the learning of mathematics and support its applications.
