Students' Perceptions towards Using Technology in Education at Yarmouk University
Abstract
This study aimed at finding out the degree of technology use and its availability in the teaching and learning process. Also, it tried to find out the problems and obstacles that face technology use at the university. In order to collect the data, a random sample of (800) students was chosen. However, (642) students chose to participate in the study and returned the questionnaires, which were used in the analysis. The Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) was used to analyze the data. The analysis showed that the degree of technology availability and it's use was low ( M = 2.15, 2.43). Also, the students indicate that there were some problems facing the use of technology in their learning process. The study findings also indicated that there were no statistical significance relationships between gender, and students' perceptions, while there were such relationship between college, degree level, and the students' perceptions. The researcher, at the end of this study, suggested some recommendations. Regarding the results related to the nature of subjects responses to the different situations the t- students test indicated that significant differences were found among right and the left hand users in their perception for the verbal sentences and pictures. The results were discussed according to the literature related to perception and the recommendations were addressed accordingly.
