Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the importance Importance of Laboratory Skills Necessary for Teaching Chemistry in Secondary Schools As Percieved by Chemistry Teachers. A questionnaire consisting of ( 74 ) items were distributed to a random sample of (171) chemistry teachers . The results revealed the following: - (73) skills obtained a mean range between 3.28 - 3.90. - There were no statistically significant differences in the mean scores between the secondary school chemistry teachers in the rating of the importance of chemistry teaching skills in the laboratory with respect of teaching experience. - There were no statistically significant differences in the mean scores between the secondary school chemistry teachers in the rating of practice of the chemistry teaching skills in the laboratory with respect of teaching experience. - There were statistically significant correlations at (0.01) between the rating of importance and rating of practice of chemistry teaching skills in the laboratory for four domains.
