Abstract

This study aimed at determining the influence of the family environment on learning motivation of a sample consisting of secondary and preparatory stages in Bahrain kingdom during the first semester in the academic year 2002/2003. The sample consisted of 578 students. The study tool consisted of twenty five items, and each has a response of four levels. The tool was actually reliable and valid. After the study tool was applied, the data had been collected and analyzed The means and the standard deviations were calculated for those responses, then the analysis of variance for sample performance on the tool was used in accordance with the study variables, namely sex, academic level and achievement leve. The results showed family environmental influence on learning motivation of the children, especially on the emotional aspects of the relations among the family members, most importantly the relation between parents and children. Results also showed no significant differences (a= 0.05) in the rate of family environmental influence on learning motivation of sample.
