Abstract

The study aims to evaluate the field experience program in the College of Education at Kuwait University according to the opinion of the student teachers. The study emphasized on the following questions: (1) What is the opinion of the student teacher about the program? (2) What are the difficulties of the program that student teachers face? To achieve the goals of the study, the researchers designed a questionnaire including 50 items divided by 6 categories. The results of the study were accumulated after taking the opinions of 221 student teachers which were enrolled in the student teaching program during the first semester of the academic year of 2000 to 2001. The results concluded that the student teaching center in the College of Education, the training school's administration, and the educational training experiences were the most weak categories in the minimum median compared to the teaching skills, the role of the local supervisor, and the University supervisor. The study ended with several recommendations that should improve the program of student teaching in the School of Education in Kuwait University.
