الملخص

يهدف المقال إلى إبراز الدور المركزي الذي يمكن أن تلعبه النظرية الاجتماعية الخضراء في تقديم إجابات ملائمة عن الأسئلة المتعلقة بالتفاعلات بين البشر ومجالهم الطبيعي، ودور التفاعلات في التدهور البيئي الخطير والمتسارع الذي يعرفه العالم اليوم. ويجادل المقال بأن النظرية الاجتماعية التقليدية تفشل في توفير تفسيرات ملائمة لهذه الظاهرة البيئية بالنظر إلى اعتمادها، إبستيمولوجيًّا، على الثنائيات الغربية التي تفصل أنطولوجيًّا بين المجتمع والطبيعة، بين الثقافة والطبيعة، بين الخارج والداخل. ومن ثمة فإن النظرية الاجتماعية الخضراء تُعدُّ مصفوفة مفاهيمية بديلة يمكنها أن تساعد على فهم التدهور البيئي الراهن من خلال إعادة التجسير بين الطبيعة والمجتمع، ومن ثم التجسير بين العلوم الطبيعية والعلوم الاجتماعية من خلال تطوير مقاربة متعددة التخصصات مندمجة وتكاملية. لتحقيق هذا الهدف، يناقش المقال التقابلات المتفرعة عن ثنائية المجتمع والطبيعة، ويعرض السياق الفكري والسياسي الذي نشأت فيه النظرية الاجتماعية الخضراء، ثم يفحص المبادئ الرئيسة التي ترتكز عليها النظرية الاجتماعية الخضراء.
