الملخص
تقدم ترجمات الأعمال غير الغربية الثقافات الأخرى إلى العالم الغربي. تُفهم الترجمة على أنها عملية إعادة كتابة وإبداع، تلعب دورًا في تعزيز اللغة والثقافة المصدر. رواية الطيب صالح: "موسم الهجرة إلى الشمال"، رواية سودانية عربية-إفريقية، تمت ترجمتها إلى اللغة الإنجليزية، من وجهة نظر ما بعد الكولونيالية. قراءة الرواية من خلال الترجمة لا تنقل كافة أبعاد وصفات العمل الأصلي إلى القارئ الغربي. والترجمة هي بالأحرى إعادة صياغة للنص عن طريق نقل الاختلافات في ثقافة اللغة الهدف، وهذا يحدد العلاقة بين الثقافات المهيمنة والثقافات التابعة من خلال عملية "التبادل الثقافي"، أو ما يعرف بالتثاقف "Transculturation". تعالج هذه الدراسة كذلك مسألة ما إذا كانت ترجمة الأدب تمثل الآخر ثقافيًا بصورة حقيقية، أو ما إذا كان المترجم، في خطاب ما بعد الكولونيالية، يتصّرف كمستعمر للنص، ذلك الفضاء المفتوح للاستعمار.
