Qatar University Press and the United Nations ESCWA are pleased to invite submissions for the upcoming 2026 edition of the Arab National Development Report (ANDD) Paper Series.

Theme:
Building Urban Resilience: Strengthening Community Resilience for Disaster Risk Reduction in Cities
Aligned with the 13th World Urban Forum and the SDG 11 review, this edition focuses on the central role of communities in enhancing the resilience of cities facing rapid urbanization and intersecting crises.

We welcome submissions on topics including:

  • Urban resilience and disaster risk reduction
  • Community-driven approaches to strengthening city systems
  • Urban sustainability and development policy
  • Smart, technology-enabled solutions for resilient infrastructure
  • Continuity of essential services: water, mobility, waste management
  • Data-driven models, digital tools, and green infrastructure for cities

We particularly encourage papers that showcase innovative practices, digital interventions, green technologies, and scalable solutions supporting sustainable and resilient urban transformation.
