Abstract

My main aim in this study is to give an historical overview of the different and organizations of grammar as proposed during the last four decades within the theoretical framework of Functional Discourse Grammar and their empirical as well as epistemological motivations. A special attention will be paid to the two most recent models, namely Functional Discourse Grammar )Hengeveld and Mackenzie 2008”) and Extended Functional Discourse Grammar (Moutaouakil 2011).
