Abstract

literary biography in ancient literature through Usama ibn munqidh’s book of Contemplation. We devided it into two major sections: The first section deals with the purpose of contemplation from the writer’s point of view as he is directly concerned. We are going to follow its various strategies starting from the writer’s narratology choices and his literary styles The second section deals with the purpose of Contemplation directed to the reader as he is concerned with it on second place. We are going to explore the strategies carried out by ibn munqidh to lead the reader to contemplation from the book. We are going to use some tools to achieve our goals from the major works of modern literary criticism.
