Semiotic, and the composition of the narrative : construction in the novel «Matar Haziran» by the Lebanese novelist Jabbour Douaihy
Abstract
The “sign” theory is taught according to two main approaches: first, the Peirce approach, which sees that the sign is signals based on perception, second, the Saussure approach, this approach makes from the sign “ a linguistic references” based on the concepts of “the signifier and the signified” only. Both of them had a role in the study of different literary texts, although the latter is more prevalent in the contemporary Arab criticism. This study represents the applied model of theoretical rules created by the American philosopher Charles Peirce in his various works, the researcher takes the novel (Matar Haziran) by the Lebanese novelist Jabbour Douaihy as an example, because it was classified as one of the important narrative works which belong to the semiotic texts, each part of it formed a semantic sign refers to the contemporary reality which the writer lives .
