Structural Techniques in Mardin and Qatar Folk Tales -A Comparative Study-
Abstract
The structure of the story is of great importance for the audience. Therefore, the narrator divides it in the form of introduction, development and conclusion. Every section has its own prevailing techniques. These techniques vary from region to region. In terms of folk literature, Mardin is a rich and fertile region. At the same time, located in the middle of the Arabian Gulf, Qatar is a rich region with all kinds of folk literature. It is important to make comparison between introduction, development and conclusion parts of the two region’s folk tales in terms of similarity and difference. The introduction part of the folk tale has a great importance in terms of the audience and has a great role in impressing the listeners. The introduction generally is made up of some words that traditionally became prevalent. In the development part the event is the backbone of the tale and the theme of the tale is treated in this part. The conclusion part is not less important than the introduction part in terms of beauty an aesthetics.
